Every year our sports association plays a "homecoming" game during the football season and we enjoy some festivities the night before at the school. The cheerleaders perform their halftime routines, there is a huge potluck dinner for the players and families (although most of the parents don't end up eating anything after we serve 200 kids) and they announce a homecoming court for each age group.
The kids love this event since they get to run around in the dark, eat junk food and act crazy with their friends. I'm just usually tired and hungry for some real dinner that I usually stop for on the way home !
